Hello and thank you for taking the time to visit. Dr. Tran believes his patients should have the final say of what is to be done and his treatment philosophy lies truly within the patient's autonomy. His active role as part of your dental healthcare team is to diagnose the problem(s), inform you of the options for treatment and his recommendations, and to perform the treatment that you and he believe to be the best for you in the situation.
Dr. Tran tries to make his relationship with his patients as open-ended as possible so that there is a free flowing line of communication and information. He thoroughly explains to each and every one of his patients the ins and outs of any processes, what is to be expected, and welcomes any questions or concerns. The staff in the office believes in the same as well, whether it is in regards to treatment plans or finances. A long with Dr. Tran, the office staff strives for a comfortable experience and a sense of familiarity for our patients. Again, the patient's autonomy is Dr. Tran's treatment philosophy which is why our office does not practice high pressure sales of treatments to our patients.
Dr. Tran grew up in Oakland and Fairfield, California. He graduated with honors from UC Davis with a Bachelor of Science degree in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior. He went on to dental school at Nova Southeastern University in Florida, which is regarded as a highly competitive school as it is one of the most applied-to schools in the nation.
After completing dental school, he went on to complete a post-doctoral residency program in New York City where he stayed to live and work. By treating people of varying degrees of socioeconomic backgrounds, Dr. Tran was able to work extensively throughout New York City, particularly in the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan's Wall Street.
Dr. Tran has also worked and scouted many areas of northern California, amongst which have been Placerville, Sacramento, Fairfield, and Vacaville. But he constantly felt himself being drawn to San Francisco. So when the opportunity presented itself to establish a practice in San Francisco, he immediately seized it.
In his little spare time, Dr. Tran enjoys activities such as snowboarding in Tahoe, mountain-biking in Marin, jogging a long the Embarcadero, playing basketball, tennis, golf, and weight-lifting. Dr. Tran hopes to travel more in the future. He has traveled to a few countries in Europe and Asia, but would ultimately like to go to Egypt due to his fascination with Egyptian history. He has also given much of his time to helping the less fortunate at Mission Solano homeless shelter, for which he received a commendation from the County of Solano.
A personal note from Dr. Tran: "I am blessed to have had the opportunities to meet and treat people of all backgrounds. With an open-mind and my dedication to you, I can assure you of an ongoing and trusting relationship if you allow me the opportunity to be your dentist. "
